The first thing you’ll notice about Anahola is the small commercial complex on the highway comprised of the post office, the general store and Ono Burger, an outdoor hamburger joint boasting some of the best food on the island…. wildly popular with both tourists and locals. A twisting road takes you from the highway down to Anahola Beach and its smattering of houses. This lovely beach is rarely found by tourists, so you’ll find mostly local families playing in these waters. A large portion of the land in Anahola is classified as “Hawaiian Homelands,” and thus reserved for those of Hawaiian lineage.
