Haena, Kauai

Drive over seven one-lane bridges from Hanalei Town, and you’ll find yourself in mystically beautiful Haena, anchored by Mt. Makana, also known as “Bali Hai.” The white sand beaches and aquamarine waters are legendary for snorkeling, tide pool exploration, surfing, and kite boarding. Haena is ringed with steep valleys—one of which is home to the National Tropical Botanical Garden at Limahuli—and where Highway 57 ends at Ke’e Beach the famed NaPali Coast trail begins.
