Koloa, Kauai

The gateway to the South Shore, quaint Koloa town is the site of the first sugar plantation in all Hawaii. The mill closed a few years ago, but the plantation era is fondly recollected each year during “Koloa Plantation Days,” a week-long celebration which features many cultural activities and events, such as the Sunset Hoolaulea, CJM Stables Rodeo, and a huge parade with festive floats, horses, and vehicles reminiscent of the era.
