Two very different oceanfront properties have just had their prices reduced. The first of these is Makana Kai, a spectacular 1.5 acre North Shore estate gracing one of the world’s most famous beaches, site of the exquisite Bali Hai as seen in the movie “South Pacific”. This property was recently reduced by a million dollars and is now priced at $9,700,000.
At the other end of the island, on Kauai's sunny Westside, in the old plantation town of Kekaha, a 1.3 acre level oceanfront lot was just reduced to $1,250,000 for a quick sale. As the owner of this lot, I intended to build a Tahitian-style bamboo house comprised of a series of rooms, all connected by open lanais and walkways. The sunny, dry air on this side of the island would make this the perfect spot for the first oceanfront bamboo house on the island.
Both properties have gorgeous sunsets, swimmable waters, terrific surfing and miles of beach walking.

Seeing potential is her specialty, whether it be for creating a new business, visualizing a remodel or selecting the perfect building site or house. Having lived on the island for 31 years, she has a broad perspective on neighborhoods, vendors, healthcare, schools and lifestyles. She has remodeled homes and her decors have been featured in two different magazines. Originally from the East Coast, she lived in Mexico and Guam before settling on Kauai. Her husband is a pediatrician and the former CEO of Kauai Medical Clinic and Wilcox Hospital. They raised four children on Kauai. Micki has an active volunteer life (she was president of the Island School PTA ----- created, chaired and still helps with the Tour of Homes which benefitted Island School and Hospice --- founded and currently co-chairs The Kauai Guild, the volunteer arm of Child and Family Service with over 200 members). She wishes she had more time to devote to family, yoga, Qi Gong, writing, drawing, pottery, tennis, travel, reading, cooking, hiking, snorkeling, gardening ... and not burning the candle at both ends. Her current interest is reforesting with native plants
